What to do when things get you down!
Hey there, Hero.
If you’ve found your way to this page, chances are things feel heavy right now. Maybe you’re overwhelmed, lost, or wondering if things will ever get better.
First, take a deep breath. You’re not alone — and you can get through this.
I know from experience that emotions can feel big, painful, and impossible to face sometimes. But here’s the truth — no feeling lasts forever. Just like a storm, emotions move through. And when you learn how to clear what’s been trapped inside, the clouds lift and the light comes back again.
🌤 When It Feels Too Much
The first thing I ask in one-on-one therapy is:
👉 Is this pain coming from what’s happening right now — or has it been sitting there for a long time?
If it’s current circumstances, remind yourself — this will pass.
Try to shift into a solution-focused mindset:
-
What can I do right now to take one small step forward?
-
Who can I reach out to for help or comfort?
-
How can I care for my body while my mind catches up?
If it’s longer-term — if the sadness or hopelessness keeps returning — that could mean you’re carrying trapped emotions or old pain that needs releasing. You’re not broken — you’re just holding too much alone. There are ways to release that weight and find your light again.
🐎 Things That Help Right Now
-
Move your body. Go for a walk, jog, or dance — even a few minutes helps shift your energy.
-
Get outside. Nature grounds you and reminds you that life keeps moving forward.
-
Breathe deeply. It calms the nervous system and helps emotions move through.
-
Talk to someone. You don’t have to carry it alone. Connection is healing.
💬 Remember
You’re not your thoughts. You’re not your pain.
These feelings don’t define you — they’re messages pointing you toward something that needs your care, not your criticism. Sometimes they’re simply signs you’ve been heading in a direction that’s not right for your heart. That’s okay — it just means it’s time to gently turn the reins toward something new.
